Cees Mesu Memorial Trust

Aims:
To establish, equip and maintain an observatory for public astronomy education and for astronomical observation

To promote astronomy in Zimbabwe

The Trust was established in memory of Cees Mesu, the driving force behind the efforts of the Eclipse subcommittee of the Harare Centre of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa.

In addition to building the observatory, the Trust aims to have as many Zimbabweans as possible see their 2001 and 2002 eclipses safely. To this end, the Trust is preparing information packages for schools and presentations and courses for educators, the tourism industry and the public.
