Plot Summary:
The story follows Lark, a brilliant computer programmer who was locked up for four years after disrupting the U.S. economy through a series of hacks. Under probation, Lark can only find work as a high school janitor, and is thus highly discontented with his job and living condition. He is soon approached by a rather peculiar man under the pseudonym "Pilate," who recognizes him and his....abilities. Pilate offers Lark a choice which could potentially turn his life around with opportunities of money and power. As Lark realizes that every move he makes has consequences, both intentional and inadvertent, he must be careful when making his decision.
