2003.01.02   Netherlands Beatrix and Supplementary Stamps
From 1 January 2003, the Dutch postage rate for letters within Europe will increase from € 0,54 to € 0,59. On 2 January 2003, TPG Post issued two new Beatrix Stamps.The design is once again based on the Beatrix Stamps of P. Struycken that were issued in 1981. The stamps depict the portrait of HM Queen Beatrix. Peter Struycken of Gorinchem designed the Beatrix stamps. His design is based on a photograph taken by Vincent Mentzel of Rotterdam. The typography is the work of Gerard Unger of Bussum. 

A supplementary Stamp with a value of € 0,05 is also issued same day. Old stamps for European destinations can be supplemented with this € 0,05 stamp.
