Who are you? This is a question very few of us can actually answer. We use titles to describe ourselves. For instance, I’m Zach. I’m in the Coast Guard and have been active for four years now. I’ve done the college thing and am working toward a BA in secondary education. Essentially meaning I’m looking to become a high school level history teacher. These are all titles and don’t adequately identify who I am.

The closest you can come to knowing who I am on here is to read my interests listed on this site and I will attempt to convey a bit more is this space. I am a rather laid back person. I guess I just don’t see a need to get riled up over small issues. Of course that doesn’t mean I don’t get passionate about some issues it just means I won’t stress myself out over something I cannot do anything about. I thoroughly enjoy a good conversation. Stimulating and intelligent talk holds my attention more than anything else. Although I cannot name obscure trivia regarding different bands, I do love music. I listen to just about everything and will always give a genre or piece a chance. Nature and the outdoors hold a special place for me. Even though I don’t get out as much as I’d like to, I get great pleasure from activities such as hiking, geocaching, swimming, boating, camping, or just about any outdoor activity. Another past time of mine is poetry. I read some and write more. There are times when I just get the urge or something inspires me and I’ll write for hours. If you’re interested, I have some of my work posted here. Feel free to read what you wish and if you have the desire, tell me what you think. |

My view of life for the most part follows my definition of freedom. That being: freedom is the ability to do what one wants as long as it does not interfere with another person’s rights. If you haven’t been able to ascertain it by now, I am very open minded and liberal. In fact, I lean toward Libertarian on a political scale. However, I do not believe anyone ever fully falls within the boundaries of a single political affiliation. I have a hard time understanding how anyone can claim to promote freedom while at the same time denying select rights to select people or groups.
There is much more that encompasses my being. However, to truly attempt to know who I am we would have to communicate.
Now I ask of the reader: Who are you? |
