Friends and Family
Steve G.: Thank you for giving me wonderful opportunites with the Alachua teen court program and for always being silly and laid back.  I'm glad we got to know each other over the last 6 months and I'll be very sad to see you go!  Best wishes in Arkansas or wherever you end up teaching Dr. Giunta!!!
Steve K.: I think we both were a little thrown by Steve's suggestion that the two of us *create* the perfect teen court volunteers, but I'm really glad I met you at teen court.  It's so nice to have someone that is my age that really gets the program and shares my sense of humor.  I'm glad my paranoia about the upcoming job offer amuses you so much, and I hope we keep amusing each other in the future.
Taylor: Although I'm extraordinarily jealous that you're in New York right now, I'm even more jealous that I'm not there with you because we always have such a good time hangin out together.  I can't really remember when it was that we finally started talking online and hanging out more at tournaments (Glenbrooks  seems to be the first time I remember us actually hanging out when competition/practice wasn't going on) but I'm glad that we did.  It's nice to have someone who honestly feels my writer's angst, who shares with me the trauma of not exactly being thrilled with high school and whom I know I can usually find online if I need a friend.  I don't know when we became friends, but I'm certainly glad that we did.
Thomas: This is another one where I don't know where to start.  I came into grad school and found myself a stranger amongst my old friends and my new classmates.  When I invited you to my new year's eve party, I didn't think you'd actually come.  But you did and we  became fast friends: talking online and working out together and finding that we had more in common than I've found with anyone I've met in the past four years.  You make me laugh when I want to cry, you can look at me across the room in Dr. Saxon's class and know exactly what I'm thinking.  I'm so glad that everything is the way it is between us, and I wouldn't change our friendship for all the money in the world...well, maybe for that much money, but I'd buy you a car with a sunroof, how's that?  When my life is a mess and I don't know up from down, I know that having a friend like you who knows me better than I know myself somehow lifts a huge weight off my shoulder.  Thank you for being who you are, for allowing me to be myself and loving me anyway.
Tina: I don't think I've ever known anyone with as much spirit and kindness as you have.  I'm amazed at the person you are, so full of life and love and so giving and sweet to everyone you come in contact with.  There is so much of you that I wish I could see in myself, and I'm really happy that we've become such good friends this year.  I know that you will always be someone I (and Frank and Zoe, too!)  can count on and feel close to and I hope that you feel the same way about me.
