Heaven's Very Special Child |
A meeting was held quite far from earth "its time again for another birth" Said the angel to the Lord above, "This special child will need much love."
His progress may seem very slow, Accomplishments he may not show And he'll require extra care, From the folks he meets, way down there.
He may not run or laugh or play His thoughts may seem quite far away In many ways he won't adapt And he'll be known as handicapped.
So let's be careful where he's sent We want his life to be content Please, Lord, find the parents who Will do a special job for you
They will not realise right away The leading role they're asked to play, But with this child sent from above Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they'll know the privilege given In caring for this gift from Heaven Their precious charge, so meek and mild Is Heaven's very special child.

Forget-Me-Not |
Our problems are many and varied. Our struggles are always uphill. I'm speaking for hundreds of children. So listen a while if you will. I want understanding - not pity. I wish you could treat me the same. You wouldn't ignore other children. At least you would ask them their name. I know I can't answer to tell you. My face may seem empty and dead. My body is twisted - but I am alive. And there are thoughts in my head. I will not be shut out from the world. I'm a child and it is my right I am not an object of pity - to be hidden away from sight. My parents see me through eyes of love. And not as others do. They see the things I can achieve. And I wish that you would too. As I ask you to forget - me - not, I beg you to hear my plea. If I could speak - I would ask you To please look closer - and see me ...

I LOVE YOU |
I love you not because of what you have done but because of who you are inside Not because of all you have accomplished but because of the character of who you are Not because you give so much to me but because of the heart behind it I love you because you are kind, sensitive, loving because you know my faults, yet love me anyway because you forgive much because you see the best in me, even when I cannot see it in myself I love you not because of what I have gained but because of your heart that gives I love you because you are a gift a precious loan from God a joy a priviledge And I will love you forever........

A Mother's Heart |
A Mother's Heart Every mother has Dreams Of a child perfect and whole. Every mother has hopes, Of perfection body and soul. They told me you're not perfect, Sweet loving child of mine. They told me that your learning, Is taking too much time. They tell me that your test came back, Showing problems and low scores. They tell me that you have to struggle, This hurts me to the core. But they don't see what I see, They smile that lights your face. But they don't hear what I hear, Your laughter reveals God's Grace. They don't see what I see, My child loving and whole. I have Hopes and Dreams, Because my my child you are a gift from God, And you have a PERFECT SOUL.

Unique - Yet so Special |
Some of you may stare Others think we're queer The compassionate shed a tear To them, we're really dear. Many don't care The problems isn't theirs We're too much to bear. ...But we are here... And yes, we're special. Special and unique in every given way Like a bittersweet fusion. We cannot articulate We may create illusions. If you were to devote yourself To see us for what we are You will find depth beyond the surface And that is just the start ! We tend to be burdensome Totally helpless too And in cases like these Rely only on you. But slowly we reveal Our character's sweeter part You might just come to love us And understand us; heart to heart. Let not your heart be sore For we are a happy breed And our's is a soul so pure Which makes us special indeed !!

If All The Birds In All The Trees |
If all the birds, in all the trees, Sang a special song for me, Sang with all their blessed might, They could not make my heart take flight. And if all the angels, up above, Sang a song of endless love, And tried so very hard to please, They could not bring me to my knees. And if all the poets in the world, Tried all at once, to be heard, With woven words of beauty rare. I pity them, they could not compare, But if you would share a joke with me, I'd charm the birds down out the trees. And if you would blow a kiss to me, You'd see me down on bended knees. Just one single word whispered for me, Now that would be pure poetry.
