It all started at the end of 1997, when Pinter Zoltan and Shapir Ilan were introduced to each other by chance.
Pinter Zoltan graduated as a music teacher and later on, was chosen by the famous flamenco guitarist, Paco Penia, to win a scholarship in Rotterdam, where he became a student of the maestro. Then, he was performing Flamenco in Budapest either as a soloist, or with flamenco dancers.
Shapir Ilan was a medical student in Budapest playing flamenco guitar for fun. Years ago, he was spending 6 months in Madrid, getting his musical education from the famous flamenco guitarist, Adam-del-Monte.
it was in 1998, in "Kolibri Pince", where the two performed together for the first time. Shortly after, they turned to be the most successful performers of "Flamenco Puro" in Budapest. Their program was made by Pinter Zoltan, mixing his original ideas and his warm voice, with the authentic basic compas played by Ilan. Later, the two were joined by Said Tichiti, (the leader of the "Chalaban") the cajon player, and became the famous "Trio Flamenco".
The "trio" was performing in Fono Budai Zenehaz, Vigado, Madacs Szinhaz & Thalia Szinhaz, only to mention few. In addition, the "trio" was participating in the most important flamenco events in Hungary, with famous artists, such as the Maestra from Sevilla, Carmen Segura, and together with "Compania Flamenca Maar".
During the last years the band does not perform on a regular basis, but rather spontaneously as a "last moment" concert. For that reason, this web site was created, to keep old friends, as well as all other Flamenco fans, updated with the upcoming live events.
