Comic Nick Fury

Once a gung-ho sergeant during World War II, Nick Fury worked his way up the U.S. intelligence ladder on the basis of actions, brains and integrity. Kept in the peak of youthful vigor by the mysterious Infinity Formula, the studly secret agent has done it all: from wooing wicked women to skydiving while smoking a cigar. When the free world has its back to the wall, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the man most likely to come out fighting!

Real Name: Nicholas Joseph Fury
Occupation: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate)
Group affiliation: S.H.I.E.L.D.; formerly the Howling Commandos, U.S. Army, Office of Special Services and Central Intelligence Agency; former liaison to British Secret Intelligence
Base of operations: S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier
First appearance: Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #1 (1963)

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 225 lbs.
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Brown, with graying temples

Powers: Nick Fury has trained as a paratrooper, Ranger, demolitions expert and vehicle specialist. He holds an unlimited-tonnage, all-seas license as a commander of ocean-going vessels. Fury has completed Green and Black Beret special-forces training, is a seasoned unarmed- and armed-combat expert, was a heavyweight boxer in the Army, and holds a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He has honed his fighting skills sparring with the star-spangled Super-Soldier called Captain America, perhaps the world's finest unarmed-combat expert. The experimental Infinity Formula that Fury first ingested during World War II retarded his aging, granting him the physique of a much younger man.

Weapons: Nick Fury's preferred handguns include a .15-caliber needle gun, a government-issue .45-caliber automatic, a captured German Lugar in 9mm Parabellum, a modified semi-automatic Walther PPK in 9mm Parabellum and the Ingram MAC-10 machine pistol in .45 caliber. Also, he has access to the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. arsenal of highly advanced weaponry and numerous paraphernalia, such as a radio-link tie and bulletproof suit. Fury's S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform consists of 9-ply Kevlar, able to withstand ballistic impact up to .45-caliber bullets, and a type C Beta Cloth, the kindling temperature of which is 1,700 degree Fahrenheit.

History: Nick Fury, the oldest of three children born to an American pilot who died in battle during the final year of World War I, grew up in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. At the start of American involvement in World War II, Fury enlisted in the Army. He underwent basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey under the command of Sgt. Charles Bass, a stern taskmaster who singled him out as the company scapegoat. In short order, Fury proved himself to be an excellent soldier and capable leader, and rose quickly to the rank of sergeant.

In the European Theater of operations, Fury led the Howling Commandos -- a band of soldiers made famous by their foolhardy exploits. The unit often fought alongside Captain America, a frail young man transformed by the government's Super-Soldier Serum into the United States' Sentinel of Liberty. Injured on a mission in France, Fury came under the emergency care of Professor Berthold Sternberg, who first inoculated him with the age-retarding Infinity Formula. Fury consumed the serum annually until recently. Due to its cumulative effect, he no longer requires additional doses to prolong his life span.

Fury remained on active duty through the Korean War, during which the Howlers reunited to surreptitiously cross the 38th parallel and destroy an enemy MIG base. This mission garnered Fury a battlefield commission and promotion to second lieutenant. Spying for the French government in Viet Nam during the 1950s, he achieved the rank of colonel and eventually earned a full-time appointment to the CIA. After several years with the CIA, Fury was recruited as director of the newly organized international-espionage organization S.H.I.E.L.D. -- a worldwide intelligence and peacekeeping directorate dedicated to protecting the planet from any and all security threats.

As S.H.I.E.L.D.'s highest-ranking agent, Fury supervised daily administrative affairs and served as supreme field commander. His leadership saw S.H.I.E.L.D. through countless crises, and was instrumental in thwarting major threats to world freedom launched by such subversive organizations as Hydra, Zodiac and A.I.M. (Advanced Idea of Mechanics). As S.H.I.E.L.D. grew into the vast international network it is today, regional directors and subversives within the organization began to undertake questionable operations without Fury's authorization or knowledge. Former agent Barbara Morse, a.k.a. the costumed adventurer known as Mockingbird, was pivotal in revealing to Fury the corruption within S.H.I.E.L.D. Ultimately, the organization was destroyed from within and re-formed, with Fury again at its head.

David Hasselhoff

The acting bug first hit when David was seven and so he took acting, singing and dancing lessons. He was very shy off stage in front of girls because he was tall and thin, but when he was on stage he was in his element. Due to his father's work his family (he have four sisters) moved around frequently. He thought his career was going to go in the direction of musicals and Broadway, but while in California he became successful on "The Young and The Restless" and his fate as an actor was sealed. He had a dream to be a pop star and his dream came true in 1988 when he crossed paths with Jack White, the noted German composer and record producer. Now he is one of the most recognized faces on television throughout the world, he continues to star as chief lifeguard, Mitch Buchannon, in the TV series "Baywatch" and "Baywatch Night", but he continues to sing too. He spends many hours visiting children's hospitals throughout the world. His charity, "Race For Life", works with the terminally ill and handicapped children in America. He is devoted to his family very much, he loves his beautiful wife Pamela and their two daughters: Taylor Ann, 5-year-old and Hayley Amber, 3-year-old.
