Amanda is the sweet girl who asked Kurt to the "girl's choice dance" at bayville high. She likes Kurt a lot and has seen him with his original form, she's one of the very few normal people who have seen his true self. Amanda is attracted by Kurt's appearance when most girls reject him for that very reason. In fact, it's obvious she has a crush on Kurt lol.

Now here's something very interesting... if you're a hardcore nightcrawler fan like I am you pretty much know everything there is to know about his life. There's something very peculiar about Amanda in evolution... because there is an "Amanda" in the comic book series. That Amanda is Kurt's foster-sister and both of them were in love. You see, Amanda wasn't her real name, her real name was "Jimaine Szardos", and she was a mutant also and went by the name "Daytripper"and "Magic II", Amanda Sefton was an alias she used. Here's a the story of the two: "When she grew up with Kurt Wagner in her mother's traveling carnival, and the two fell in love, but Jimaine was persuaded to stay behind and learn magic when Kurt left to find adventure. Kurt ended up becoming the X-Man Nightcrawler, and during his time in New York he met Jimaine in the guise of Amanda Sefton, and the two began/renewed their relationship. Amanda didn't reveal herself to Kurt until his life was threatened by Margali, Jimaine's mother and Kurt's foster-mother, herself a powerful sorceress." -Cerebra's files.

You see what I mean? Did you guys make the connection here? Amanda could actually be someone else... ANYWHO! My hypothesis of Amanda from evo being Amanda Sefton from the comics has been proven by the episode "The Toad, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Her last name is spoken and it is indeed Sefton. Her mother's name is Margali also!!!!!!

History: Born Jimaine Szardos, Amanda Sefton grew up with her foster brother, Kurt Wagner, now the X-Man known as Nightcrawler, in Der Jarrmacht traveling circus. The two fell in love, but Amanda stayed behind to study the mystic arts when Kurt left to find adventure. Amanda and Kurt lost touch with one another, until they met in New York and renewed their relationship. Amanda did not reveal her abilities to Kurt until the powerful sorceress Margali, her mother and his foster mother, threatened Nightcrawler's life. Margali blamed Kurt for killing her son, Stefan, relenting only when she discovered her son had turned evil.

While Kurt was a member of Excalibur, Amanda helped the British super-team on its missions. When Illyana Rasputin, the original Magik, died, she gave teammate Shadowcat her Soulsword, a magical weapon created from the darkest part of Magik's soul during her stay in Limbo. However, the Soulsword began to corrupt Shadowcat. Amanda saved her friend from the weapon's dark powers, convincing Shadowcat to give her the Soulsword. She then entrusted the implement to her mother. Margali, slightly insane at the time, used the Soulsword to murder those ahead of her on the Winding Way, a mystical path followed by many magicians on which each conjurer takes a turn being powerful, then powerless, until returning to a position of greater power. Margali then joined the London Hellfire Club, whose members were planning to destroy the city and take over Britain. Amanda left Excalibur after helping defeat her mother and the Hellfire Club, claiming she didn't feel right due to the changing currents of power on the Winding Way.

Belasco, the powerful demon sorcerer who ruled Limbo, captured Margali following her defeat. But the sorceress switched bodies with Amanda to recuperate, regain her freedom and win back her position on the Winding Way. Margali eventually made her way back to Limbo, where mother and daughter returned to their rightful bodies and defeated Belasco. Amanda became the Mistress of Limbo, taking the name Magik to confuse her foes' spells.
