My impression of Singapore, encapsulated in a cartoon map of Singapore Island with her cultural, natural and financial icons. Stare carefully at the pictures and you would see aspects of Singapore living coming alive. One rather funny point was that the judges, i was told actually censored some images, thanks to political sensitivity, so well
these are not here. If you look carefully you might also see some typical singaporean phenomena, like long queues for free gifts and soldiers booking in to their camps. Enjoy!
(Left) One of my earliest attempts in Wildlife Photography. Clearly much improvements are needed! Here, an estuarine crocodile happily keeps his mean eyes above the water looking for a potential prey. This picture was taken in a quiet tributary of the Kinabatangan river in Sabah in July 2007. Truly a beautiful place with loads of wildlife and happy memories!

(Right) A thick shround of mist covers the entire Lindu Valley in central Sulawesi in the morning. Those chunks of green that you see in the pictures are hilltops sticking out above the sea of clounds. This scene was shot from a mountain edge in Lore Lindu National Park in 2007
(Left) Some of the most memorable mammal sightings from my travels in the eastern parts of the Indonesia Archipelago. Photos are both captured by my friend Ong Kiem Sian who was with me. The first is a Masked Bat, caught perching inquisitively on a tree in the Moluccas (Halmahera island to be exact) at dusk. The second animal on the right is the iconic Spectral Tarsier of Sulawesi, a cute little primate that can fit easily on one's palm/
(Right)While flying on a fifteen seater Merpati turboprop  plane from West Timor to the next Indonesian Island of Florest, I was able to capture this panorama of Mount Inerie under the illuminating glow of the morning Sun. It rises above Flore's Indian ocean coast like a giant ice cream cone. Fresh hardened lava can be seen in the foreground
A Draco or Flying-Dragon lying eggs on the ground in the mountains of Central Sulawesi. As its name implies, flying dragons are in reality highly specialized lizards that have flaps of foldable ribcages that can be deployed as 'wings' to help them glide from tree to tree. This one has got his 'wings' folded in beneath his belly. Photography taken by myself in Lore Lindu National Park
The not-so-aptly named Satanic Nightjar from the Mountains of Central Sulawesi. I was lucky to find two of these uncommon birds comfortably tucked under a clump of fern by the forest edge up the Anaso track at Lore Lindu. Satanic Nightjars are also known as the Heinrich's or Diabolical Nighthjar. While there is really nothing diabolical about them, stories has it that the local people likened its calls to be like that of eyes being pulled out of the sockets by devils! How imaginative cna people get!
Stunted mountane forests on the cool slopes of Mount Mutis in West Timor (Indonesia). The gnarled appearance of the tree branches give the appearance of a giant bonsai garden.
The Lord is my Shepherd

The Lord is my Shepherd,
I shall not want,
He makes me lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside still waters,
He restores my soul
He leads me in path of righteousness
For his Name's sake'

Even though i walk through the valley,
of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.
