A View from Mauro Sako (Picture by Lim Kim Chuah)
Mauro Sako, in Kerinci Seblat is famous amongst birders due to its fine range of lowland and submontane Sumatran Birds. While it is not easily accessible, the common sight of Sumatran Treepies, Blue-masked Leafbirds and various lowland specialties makes every visit to this fantastic location worthwhile!

Taman Rimba Ampang (Kuala Lumpur)
This site, in my personl opinion offers the best birding in close proximity to the city area of Kuala Lumpur. Often neglected by local birders because of much disturbance from noisy children, it is very easy to bird and harbour some of the tamest Raffle's Malkohas I've ever seen. Try this site if you are in KL for a short period, and do not waste time going to Ulu Gombak or Sungei Tekala or Templer's Park. Some goodies very easily found here are Grey-headed Babblers, the near-threatened Finsch's Bulbul, Rufous-chested Flycatcher, Chestnut-naped Forktail and Lesser Green Leafbird. Wintering Narcissus Flycatchers are here too.....Full Article here

Map to Taman Rimba Ampang (Coming soon)
This extremely bird-rich area is being logged and farmed and overrun by development all over. Only the forests on the slopes remain relatively intact. The lowlands are mostly destroyed. The easily birded 'Bunker Trail' is now officially out of bounds due to military activity. Birders should try Hutan Lipur Panti or the road to Kota Tinggi Waterfall (some good forest remains by the roadside)
