This was the last Led Zeppelin concert and appearance, as what ended up being their last tour came to an end. Page is clearly in a mood to stretch things out, first adding a longer guitar solo in a tremendous 'Nobody's Fault But Mine.' After a very nice 'All My Love,' they embark on a monumental ‘Trampled Under Foot’ - Page churns out his usual combination of wah-wah and soloing, but extends the whole middle part of the song far beyond the usual limit. Following this, 'Achilles Last Stand' is skipped and he catches his guitar tech by surprise and a long pause is necessary for the tuning for 'White Summer' - an incredibly long, experimental version here, with new themes galore. ‘Stairway to Heaven’ is another epic, as Page plays and plays while Bonham somehow continues at a fast pace. ‘Rock and Roll’ has another nice variation on the standard solo, but ‘Whole Lotta Love’ is yet another crazy, extended jam - Page uses the theremin and both the guitar and voice have a number of effects employed (delay, etc.) as Bonham and Jones chug along. A great end to this interesting tour…and Led Zeppelin.
