This show is much livelier than the previous concerts on this tour and the audience/group interaction almost rivals that of the 1971 Japanese shows. Plants voice is also in considerably better shape than in the first shows of the tour¾hes in fine form for 'Over the Hills and Far Away' and Since Ive Been Loving You'. A great Dazed and Confused includes some dramatic chord changes and amazing playing overall from Page, in addition to a strange bit of 'The Crunge'. This show also has what was probably the only appearance of Moby Dick between the U. S. tours of 1972-73. The Whole Lotta Love medley is probably the best part of the show and very long - the Boogie Woogie section is skipped this time (very unusual) and a number of infrequently played songs follow instead, including Lawdy Miss Clawdy'. The encore is a very entertaining and long Stand by Me, followed by the stomping Immigrant Song'. |
