In 1992, ZTA adopted the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as its national philanthropy. Later, the Fraternity broadened its focus to encompass not only the Komen Foundation, but also other educational means dedicated to fight breast cancer through education, awareness, and promoting breast health. Each collegiate and almunae chapter generally volunteers with one or more local philanthropy of its choosing in addition to their support of the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation and ZTA's national philanthropy.
Today our National Philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. With this cause in mind, ZTA has partnered up with Remax in sponsoring the survivor program at Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure all over the country; Geralyn Lucas and Courage Night promoting her book and breast cancer awareness in malls all over the United States; Yoplait and their Save Lids to Save Lives campaign; and the NFL to promote Think Pink!
