This is a picture of a fish I saw in an aquarium in the neighboring prefecture; truly a land of mystery and wonder is this Kingdom in the East.
My beard has finally passed the scraggily uncut look and moved onto the Really Awfully Long look, and is beginning to be a bit of an annoyance. I can actually braid it pretty well, or would be able to if the middle part of the beard hadn't sold out to Communism and called an all-work stoppage on hair growth. In point of fact, in blatant disregard for all sense and decency, I have it braided right now, and it is staying put surprisingly well. Needless to say the whole beard looks pretty bad, but since I've gone this far it would seem silly to stop now. It looks basically like my chin has been caught in a mangy red explosion permanently frozen in the moment of expansion. This is not really a good thing unless you're out to pick up chicks who need a model off of which to study the dynamics of pyrotechnics.
Through the ever-flowing bounty that is bootleg video I got to see Love Actually today, and despite its complete vacuity it was really quite good. I'm glad I didn't pay ten bucks to watch it, but it was certainly enjoyable enough to see. It was a bit of a chick-flick marathon, as before that we watched Uptown Girls, which was pretty well all nonesense and girly bonding, which is not to be confused with girly bondage. Then before that I saw The Truman Show again, and was reminded of what a great movie it is. On the movie note, I watched Stand by Me during the homestay, and I have to admit I was less than impressed. It certainly has its moments, but overall it is tainted by excessive crudity, profanity and cruelty; I was unsurprised when the end credits showed it was based on a Stephen King story, as everything of his I've ever come across has these same flaws.
Nothing else went on today.
