Happy Easter! After a very nice Easter Mass this morning followed by a really pleasant long talk with some church friends, I proceeded to celebrate the resurrection of Christ in the only way that makes sense: five straight hours of karaoke. This was definitely a record-breaker for me, and yet it was a blast the whole time, like when you accidentally drop little firecrackers down your pants and get a funny feeling inside. Accidentally drop them thirty-seven times.
This is a picture of me and the world's largest statue of a blowfish, found tucked inconspicuously in a corner of a shrine in Shimonoseki, the westmost city of Honshu. This might be my favorite picture I've taken thus far. I have another one of my friend Yukie doing the same thing, and it's just as good. Don't let's start asking silly questions like why one would want to build a statue of a blowfish, or whether or not there are even any potential rivals for its claim to the largest of its type.
One more time, school starts tomorrow! Blast! Although I am looking forward to seeing all my school friends again, I can honestly say I learned more Japanese in the two and a half months or so of break than I did in the same amount of time at school.
The Engrish for today comes from my friend Andrew R.'s apartment managerial staff, who put this sign up in order it instruct this dorm full of English teachers how to dispose of their inflammable automobiles. More tomorrow after school.
