Today I did pretty much nothing again. I took that Japanese business proficiency test and pretty well bombed it, which was more or less what I expected. The first half was just listening, which turned out to be surprisingly easy; of course, that means that I think I may have gotten maybe half of that section right, but that's way more than I thought I would be able to do. The last section, however, was the reading section and required you to read these massive paragraphs full of incomprehensible business terms and kanji in order to answer one measly little question, a process it repeated fifteen times. I know three others who took the test today, and none of us managed to finish that section. The things I do because they are free; I think I can blame my grandmother for that gene.
I am seriously addicted to udon at this point. I think I've eaten it 4 times since that time on Friday, which is really an awful lot considering I've only had 6 meals in that time. In a regular meat broth it's already a little noodly bit of heaven, but when you throw it in a spicy kim chee broth instead, it's like God has started the Apocalypse and commanded me to find all the spirits of deliciousness and eat them with extreme prejudice. It's like "Frailty," only with fewer axes.
The one class that gives me homework has been chafing me lately, all expecting me to do an hour of work a week or somesuch nonesense. I had two weeks' worth of small diary entries to do, and as usual I churned them all out at a go about ten minutes ago. I am going to die when I try to climb down from this magical fairy land with my Golden Goose of Laziness proudly clasped in my arms.
I had forgotten to put the postal code in my address. This been corrected.
