Yeah, it's stock footage day again. Wu is the coolest, so it's always worth putting shots of him up. There is a possibility that I may get him to come to karaoke tomorrow, a possibility so beautiful and fragile that I fear the slightest motion may cause it to shatter into a million fragments of What Might Have Been. Andrew R. recommended a Japanese grammar book that I have been devouring since he left; I may finally have a way of replacing all the Japanese language learning that should have gone on in my language classes this semester. If I work hard enough, I shouldn't be too terribly behind the classes that actually do work for next semester. Today I learned how to use five different permutations of one word that all look almost identical but have widely varying meanings. EXCITEMENT! And yet, I really am excited - being a total nerd is strangely rewarding.
Finally finished "The Night of the Milky Way Railroad" by Miyazawa Kenji, this absolutely great kid's book about a kid who goes on a trip through the cosmos in a train and sees such things as the Southern Cross, Scorpio, and Jesus. It's written in this moody 40s style and is accompanied by some amazing illustrations, and was good enough that I am seriously considering dropping some of this funny money on more of his work.
The quality of my sentences took a wrong turn at the corner of Coherency and Gibberish Way about a month back, and now it is emptying out my bank account by living a prodigal life of debauchery in Comma-Conjunction Ville.
