All right, it is probably not a good idea to post right now, as I'm afraid I took S. Subjugation's advice and rode the sake train one too many stops past the station about three hours ago and am still the worse for the wear for it. Although I say it was the sake train, it was actually the whiskey train, and it seemed to stop every stage of the evening that didn't involve me having a full glass ofwhiskey or some comparable alcohol. Anyway, I sang some highly dubious karaoke with some
rather sober friends for about two hours just now, and I confess that i only clearly remember singing Joy to the World and Baby Got Back, although I definitely remember shaking the tambourine with vigour at every song, regardless of the beat. I'm quite afraid that I even used the word 'irregardless,' although it was an honest misphrasing that was supposed to be 'irrespective of.' Anyway, this was a very entertaining evening.
You know, every time I open my water bottle to take a drink of cool, refreshing water, it seems to attack me with a savage passion usually reserved only for native bearers turning on their cruel master halfway up Mt. Everest. I think it would probably be better if I just gave up for the evening and started trying to live a real life again tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve for me, so wish me a merry Christmas or somesuch. I plan on sleeping until I have to go to a jolly Christmas shamisen concert with some people at church at about 5. Oh boy! Nothing says Christmas like totally un-Christian traditional Japanese instruments! Anyway, I really am excited and think it should be tons of fun. may or may not write tomorrow, but I will certainly have a great time enjoy the various Christmas gifts I will open tomorrow.
