Merry Christmas one last time. Today we who celebrate Christmas at the dorm had a giant feast from about 12 to 5, which is how these things are supposed to work. I made scones and generally puttered like a good housewife should, although I had shoes on and I couldn't really be pregnant. We played an extremely ghetto round of that poem game, but nonetheless had a thoroughly jolly time of it.
Picked up Grammy and Michael from the airport, and they seemed excited if somewhat tired. I was having a surprisingly difficult time speaking English, and kept having to rephrase sentences as I forgot words like "oyster" and "bus stop," but I'm told that's normal. For people with massive head trauma.
But regardless, they are all settled into their extremely cramped hotel room and all is well. Grammy apparently filled about half her suitcase with priceless American treats like cheese and deodorant, so I'm amazed she managed to fit anything for herself in as well.
Have nothing else to say so may as well stop writing. I read another Akutagawa story - he's really just too good to be believed. Of course, like every other Japanese author of his period, he committed suicide while still ridiculously young, but he left an impressively large volume of high-quality work for all to enjoy.
  EXCITEMENT!
