I am a sleepy boy! Why am I awake? What in the world am I doing posting at 1 when I have to be up before 7 to start a full day of sight-seeing?
And where in the name of all that's holy are my pants?
Today was great, starting as it did with making my grandmother (and Michael, but he is young and mighty as the stout oak, like me) walk half an hour in the cold to go to a church service she understood not a word of. I am a terrible grandson, but everyone at church was thrilled to see them.
At least three people that I have spoken to have confused Grammy for my mother and been extremely surprised when I corrected them. When I get a good picture of her, I'll put it up so that you all can understand why people can easily be mistaken.
As I may or may not have mentioned, we three crazy American travelers are going to Kyoto tomorrow and will be back on either then thirty-first or the first, so I obviously won't post until then. I can't wait to go back to Kyoto, as I've been wanting to go again ever since I went the first time.
Alice is obsessed with the David Lynch show Twin Peaks and has been watching it non-stop lately, so I've caught a few minutes of it. For those of you who don't know, Lynch is the man who brought you "Lost Highway," a movie so violently opposed to anything that makes a movie worth watching, such as plot, internal consistency, meaning, interesting imagery, or monkeys throwing feces at each other that I am forced to conclude that it was the first test of the Pretention Bomb, a deadly soul-crushing weapon devised by the scientific fiends in Hollywood and unleashed on an unsuspecting American public. After watching that movie I firmly resolved never to see anything he had ever done again, but I am ashamed to admit that the show is strangely intriguing. Why, I'm not sure, as it seems to consist of little more than bad 80s hairdos acting badly while oppressive and heavy-handed mood music plays in the foreground, but for some reason it may in fact be worth a look. Maybe.
Am too tired to write coherently right now, but not tired enough to be writing insane, sleep-deprived gibberish. Calling it a night here. Will post again after Kyoto. The guestbook is lonely, so if you're lonely too, look it up for a dinner date, just friendship, or maybe more.
