Himeji Castle. Possibly the coolest part of the trip, this castle is in perfect original condition, just as it was in the 1600s when it was built. Satisfies all my desires for hidden rooms, murder holes and arrow slits. Also incredibly beautiful. |

A shrine at Mt. Shosha, also in Himeji. Built in either the 700s or the 1000s (I can't remember), it is stupidly old. |
