JOURNAL
ARTICLES
Each
day the student should record a journal entry.
The
entry must include and cite a specific example for:
*
What was the focus of today's class work? (What were you to be
thinking about today?, the thought of the day from the TV)
* How did the presentation address today's focus? (What happened
in class to help you understand what you were to be thinking about?
* I studied for ______ minutes tonight. I did my ____________
* What questions do I still have about the work we did today? None is
generally NOT an appropriate response to this entry.

Comments About The Journal Article
The entry should take no more
than 3-5 minutes total time. Question one should be written before class
begins. Question 3 and 4 2 should be written at the end of the class
period before the bell rings. We generally have 2-3 minutes at the end of
the class for students to reflect on the work we did in class that day.
Questions four and five 3 3 and 4 will be completed after the home study
session (usually about 15 minutes and should be nightly, review, particularly of
the glossary terms, is always appropriate if there is no specific homework
assignment).
The last entry will+ form the basis for the first thing we do in the class the
following day. If there are questions they should be addressed at the very
beginning of class. All classes begin with a question and answer period.
If the student is shy and does not wish to ask the question in front of the
class there is a 'needs' basket on the north side of the room where he or she
may submit the question for me to answer. These questions may be
anonymous.
