The remains of archeological stone-circle are still exist in Asota Sharif, for which Asota was named. The sign of megaliths stones spread over the site indicates that it was a temple of sun-worshipping communities in Saravish regime [5th/6th century BC]. According to some scholars, the building had 30 doors, every one of which was used on a certain day. A local legend states that these stones were the petrified forms of a marriage procession, comprising of bride, the bridegroom and some other people /relatives, who were attacked by bandits and prayed to be petrified instead of disgraced at their hands. Sharif was added latter on due to the respectful personality of Hazrat Hameedullah Babajee. |
