Peace

Sometime in our lives,
Is there time for us to say
“I’m ok with where I’m at,
I’m getting along fine, my way”?

Sometime in our lives,
Will there be no stress and toil,
Where the shit doesn’t hit the fan
And the pan won’t over boil?

Sometime in our lives,
Can we talk as man and wife
In the loving tones of friendship,
Away from tears and strife?

But before that time arrives
We must first walk on those paths set,
We must make our bonds as siblings
And remember when we first met.

And before that time arrives
Comes worries, hopes and fears,
Feelings hurt and battles raged,
Full of confusion and of tears.

If ever we can both find peace
It must be with ourselves first
Then can come the blooms of romance
And the quenching of all thirst.
