Price $10,500
N143M Serial# 746
Summary: The Phoebus is a standard class ship made of fiberglass/balsa wood construction. It is a very easy aircraft to fly with very nice handling characteristics. My ship is a B model which means it has retractable landing gear. As can be seen in the photos the Phoebus has a very large rudder and top and bottom spoilers. This combination allows the ship to slip very well. Additionally the aircraft has a lot of wing area which makes it a very good climber and a superb performer on weak days.
Other Notes: The diameter of the tailboom should also be noted. This is rugged aircraft which is very strong. The high wing allows for good visibility and additionally clearance from the ground during landouts. The full flying tail does not make this aircraft pitch sensitive....but you can not let go of the stick either (similar to a 1-26 in this repsect).
This aircraft has great performance and is a great value for the price. It has been babied and is in superb condition (trailer too). I have all the history on this particular aircraft. For that matter this Phoebus is on the cover of George Moffats Book "Winning On The Wind". Give me a call for more details.
