The N 66 was actually lost in a collision with a "Fouga", April 21, 1963. It was damaged
severly but the lack of Vautours IIN led to the decision to refurbish the aircraft.
It returned to service in September 1966, fitted with a camera in the nose.
Before the Six Days War it was also fitted to carry ECM "Yabelet" pods.
During the war the "66" was the most versatile IIN aircraft, acting as attacker-leader, as EW platform, as photo-recce aircraft and as flares' dropper. It had no guns.
Nickname: "Drakon" (Dragon)
( the IAI yard, after rebuilt)
