the first catholic church in prienai was built around 1609 and it’s thought that the russian army burnt the church down in 1655, but the town rebuilt it 20 years later. the present wooden church built in 1850, expanded in 1875, adding to an already beautiful building. The alters of the Prienai church are decorated with the beautiful paintings, “St.Ann” and “Three Kings” both painted by an unknown artist. |
