Bio of Kari

Beliefs:

• Logic, the Vulcan philosopy originated by Surak.
• IDIC.
• Violence to be used  only when necessary, that is for self defence of Bajor, Vulcan, or the Federation at large when all other options have been considered
• She values the words of the Prophets because she knows they are creatures who exist in all times and therefore have a unique insight.  Quite logical. One could say, however, that her visit on SD 12.0913 to a Bajoran Shrine on DS 101 was less than logical, however Kari would disagree.

Dietary preferences: Vegetarian
Languages fluent in: Vulcan, Bajoran, and Federation Standard English.

Alyza's youngest sibling. She is 2 inches taller than her sister (thus is 5' 4") , 5 lbs heavier (thus is 120 lbs), and her hair lacked the waves of Alyza's. She wears her straight, black hair cut short. Her nose has Bajoran ridges very much like her sister's, evident, but a bit muted. She wears the long flowing robes of Vulcan, but also has a Bajoran earing like the one Alyza wears when off duty. She also looked very young. By Vulcan standards, she was, being 26 years old, 10 years younger than her next oldest sibling, Alyza.

Kari is a relatively recent graduate of the Vulcan Science Academy and has had trouble deciding what direction her professional life will take. This descision was complicated by the death of her betrothed when the USS LEXINGTON, under the command of then Capt. M. Bagimabatoo, was destroyed by Klingons. While his Katra and body were returned to Vulcan, Kari was left with a dilema.

This dilema thought to solved when she found a niche for herself on M'Sagro III, where she believes her skills and knowlege are needed to help those on the desert planet survive. However, she found that her help could go only so far. With hopes that some Starfleet training would help, she enlisted as a Yeoman in sciences and was assigned to the USS CURIE. After vanishing from the CURIE when Ens. John Patrick Perigrin became "cold" (a long story) and their subsequent rescue by the USS GRYPHON, Kari decided that despite the urgings of her father and mother that she pursue science, what she really wanted to do was help people. Thus she requested and recieved a transfer to the councelling department of starfleet. She was subsequently assigned to assist the CNS of the USS HERMES.

With the recommendation of Ens. Mac Giolla Phadriag of the HERMES, and at the request of Capt Nemec of the USS NIGHTINGALE, Kari has trained to be a CNS and specialist in natural medicine while on DS 101. She will get her practical experience under the FO of the NIGHTINGALE, an outstanding councellor name Pol Cannon.

Kari is assigned currently as Natural Medicine Specialist on the Nightingale. She may, perhaps, have finally found her nitch. Training in the councelling area ongoing, as Kari learns about emotions, both her own and those of others.
