In Loving Memory Christopher James Perigo September 21, 1981 - June 14, 1996 |
On the day of June 14th 1996, the day the boys got out of school for the summer and the day after we celebrated my 33rd birthday,Chris and a friend were taking a friend home on their bikes. On the way home the boys ran a stop sign and Chris did not make it through but his bestfriend did. His dearest friend Troy watched as his bestfriend's life was taken. I had driven up on the accident scene not knowing it was my own son who had been in that accident. I was turned away to go another way only to find out that the accident, only a quarter mile from our home, was my own son.
To drive up on an accident is hard enough but for that accident to be your own son is even harder. Christopher was rushed to the emergency room but did not survive. He was pronounced dead instantly. Thank God for taking my son quickly and painlessly instead of suffering. Chris leaves behind his two younger brothers, Joel and Aaron who now will do all the things that Chris will never do, they will do them with the memory of their older brother. Our families hearts also go out to his best friend Troy Hilkey who saw his bestfriend killed that day for he to will live with that memory forever.
To every parent who has ever lost a child my heart and love go out to all of you.
Christopher's Mom
Christopher you are gone but not forgotten, you live on in our hearts.
With eternal love
Mom
