Man's Best Friend

Although I have no pets now, I really would like to have one soon. however, I've always maintained that I won't get a pet until I have a place where the animal can run around freely. By that statement, I mean a dog. I'm a dog person, can't stand cats. We've always had a dog in our family. In fact, my parents bought their current dog, a golden retriever named Brie (officially Eastveiw's Lady Brie, although the family wanted Brie - Like the Cheese), a month after I left for college. She's now 12 and making the best of it she can. When she passes, she'll be sorely missed.

I've decided that I want a golden retriever because I like their dispositions. They're kind, gentle, and smart. I've included some links to golden retriever sites, plus additional dog links. At some point, I'll probably post a picture of Brie.

GOLDEN RETRIEVERS
The first site here is for the Golden Retriever Club of America. There's some great resource information about the breed, how to find breeders and local clubs. The second site is called Golden Retrievers in Cyberspace. This is also a great informational site, but also includes information on dogs that need to be rescued or have been rescued. After going through this site, you can't be anything but heartbroken about the way some people treat their pets and the great people out there that will come to the rescue.
