Keith Jackson Laterals Away a Talbot Victory
1
In the Jets - Dolphin game last Sunday, the Dolphin's Keith Jackson was rumbling Week 3 results
toward the endzone with a Dan Marino pass and three Jets on his back, when he Berger-Browell 51 Jones-Klingman 26
gave up the ball to Irving Fryar that was trailing Jackson. Fryar scored. Montgomery 51 Czupryna 24
Could Jackson have scored? He claims he could have. This type of play is common Outlaw 39 Ricker 21
to the Dolphins and in fact, Fryar had taken a lateral from Terry Kirby earlier Peil 43 Jackson 24
in the game. To the Dolphins, it doesn't matter who scores, as long as they Stroupe 40 Talbot 38
scored, but to Mike TALBOT it matters. It was his QB, Marino, throwing to his Best 25 Wallace 8
receiver, Jackson, who laterals to someone else's Irving Fryar. 6 points tossed Gates 32 Deitrich 32
away and 2 point loss to STROUPE 40-38. One of those plays that only matter in
the BRFL. Week 4 (Sep 25-26)
Berger-Browell vs Jackson
There was a closer game: GATES and DEITRICH played to a 32 all tie. What was Czupryna vs Outlaw
remarkable about this game was that there no splinter squads, and GATES picked Jones-Klingman vs Montgomery
up the Jets QB and started them. They scored twice and his regular QBs, New Ricker vs Wallace
Orleans did not. Talbot vs Gates
Best vs Deitrich
Outlaw took a measure of revenge on RICKER by beating him 39-21. The remarkable Peil vs Stroupe
Cleveland D/st bested their season high of 16 in week 1 and scored 17. Ricker
had previously had OUTLAW'S number. However it was business as usual as TAMPA BAY AT GREEN BAY 1:00
as a couple of other teams took on their longtime punching bags. PEIL continued ATLANTA AT WASHINGTON 1:00
his domination of JACKSON 43-24. There was lost of scoring on the benches as CLEVELAND AT INDIANAPOLIS 1:00
well. 25 is about half of what BEST usually scores against WALLACE, but it was LOS ANGELES RAMS AT KANSAS CITY 1:00
good enough 25-8. JACKSON and WALLACE are two of the league's most successful MIAMI AT MINNESOTA 1:00
franchises, but they just can't beat their nemisis. CINCINNATI AT HOUSTON 4:00
NEW ENGLAND AT DETROIT 4:00
In the so called "hyphen bowl" BERGER/BROWELL defeated JONES/KLINGMAN 51-26. B/B NEW ORLEANS AT SAN FRANCISCO 4:00
is 3-0 and is averaging 50 points a game. It was "throwback weekend" in the NFL PITTSBURGH AT SEATTLE 4:00
and in the BRFL, it is throwback season for 0-3 CZUPRYNA. It appears to be 1989 SAN DIEGO AT LOS ANGELES RAIDERS 4:00
again for the so called "franchise of the 90's". However, MONTGOMERY made swift CHICAGO AT NEW YORK JETS 8:00
work in a 51-24 win and CZ did not have to endure a Monday night of agony. DENVER AT BUFFALO MON 9:00
