Week 5 THIS WEEK IN THE BRFL October 5, 1994

TOP 4 SHAKEUP: OUTLAW TOPPLES B/B - BEST 9 STROUPE 8 STINK UP THE JOINT
1
The ups and downs of the 1994 BRL season. In week one we were dumbfounded over Outlaw 36 Berger-Browell 23
a 59-58 score. Add 4 weeks and subtract 100 points and we are again dumbfounded. Czupryna 41 Jackson 17
This time over a stinker of historic proportions: 9-8, BEST over STROUPE. This Gates 48 Jones-Klingman 38
dog of a game is not actually the record for dual futility, that was a 1990 9-7 Ricker 33 Montgomery 31
BEST (again) over OUTLAW. Take away the new bonus points added this year for Wallace 25 Talbot 16
turnovers and combined 100 yards and this game WAS EVEN WORSE. The mighty have Best 9 Stroupe 8
fallen: Previously unbeaten BERGER BROWELL was defeated by OUTLAW 36-23, who Deitrich 16 Peil 13
also replaced him at the top by one point.
Week 6 (Oct 9-10)
So 1 was beaten by 2, 3 by 4 and 5 by 6. GATES got two early TDs on Monday Night Berger-Browell vs Ricker
from Eric Green and Barry Foster to win 48-38 over JONES-KLINGMAN. The beating Czupryna vs Stroupe
was so thorough - every player scored EXCEPT the kicker. Speaking of kickers, Jones-Klingman vs Outlaw
with last years "Faud Reviez" controversey behind them, WALLACE and TALBOT waged Jackson vs Montgomery
a quiet battle with BW pulling out a 25-16 victory. WALLACE has beaten Talbot Talbot vs Peil
x times in a row including last year's regular season and playoff game. Best vs Gates
Wallace vs Deitrich
If you wonder why DEITRICH drinks a lot of coffee on Tuesday, it is because he
is up to the bitter end of Monday night games. At least he's happy. This week INDIANAPOLIS AT NEW YORK JETS 1:00
Webster Slaughter stayed out of the end zone on a meaningless Houston drive, LOS ANGELES RAMS AT GREEN BAY 1:00
and PEIL falls 16-13. MIAMI AT BUFFALO 1:00
NEW ORLEANS AT CHICAGO 1:00
There are no more "0's" in the win and loss columns of the standings: CZUPRYNA SAN FRANCISCO AT DETROIT 1:00
has finally won. This time it was a solid victory over fading JACKSON 41-17. TAMPA BAY AT ATLANTA 1:00
The win means that no CZ player is on the splinter squad, well no CURRENT one KANSAS CITY AT SAN DIEGO 4:00
that is. It is perhaps fitting that VINCENT BRISBY, a CZ drop, now with LOS ANGELES RAIDERS AT NEW ENGLAND 4:00
MONTGOMERY, captains the squad with 13 points. RICKER was the winner by 33-31. ARIZONA AT DALLAS 4:00
In a game that featured Ricker's Barry Sanders running 85 yards to set up DENVER AT SEATTLE 4:00
Ricker's Derrick Moore. Now that's teamwork. WASHINGTON AT PHILADELPHIA 8:00
MINNESOTA AT NEW YORK GIANTS 9:00
Viva Las Vegas: I'll be in Las Vegas this weekend (on business). Please leave your BYES: PITTSBURGH, CINCINNATI, HOUSTON, CLEVELAND
