Draft FaqWhen is the Draft? The draft is this Sunday, August 27 at 6:00.Where is the Draft? The draft is hosted by Brad Moses. Brad suggests that you obtain directions from Yahoo Mapit. His Address is 123 Ashley Brook Ct, Raleigh, NC, 27513.Here is a map to the draft that shows directions from Crabtree Mall. What Should I Bring? You need to bring your team dues for this season, plus 10 dollars to pay to the draft host. You got a little cash, Brad, don't be serving us leftovers from the "TWFL".Team dues are 100.00. Entry Fee (20 dollars returning teams / 30 dollars new teams) plus transaction and loss escrow. The reason we stake it so high is that Wallace can pay us off quicker at the end of the year when he writes 11 checks rather than collect from a bunch of big spending losers. There are penalties for not paying on time, see the constitution. What is the Pick Order? As of 7 PM Wednesday it is

Todd is a veteran fantasy baller who is a new to the area, but runs a league based in Florida. Todd grew up in Illinois and follows the Da Bears. Terry once played fantasy football about five years ago. Is from NC. Is a big Redskin fan. His wedding anniversary is draft night...Uh Oh. How do you Pronounce Team 11?This is for the new guys who asked. Sa-Preen-A... Just call him "CZ".All the Old DraftsLearn your opponents draft strengths and weakeness> Study the Old DraftsSchedules are AvailableWill the Number 1 Pick Make Bud WiserAugust 18 With the retirement of the Mo-ha, Deitrich is now the regular season leader in wins, However, Bud is a post season loser. No rings so far, but last year he got to the finals. At the preseason drawing, he drew position number 1. If he keeps the spot, it is the first time he will pick this high. His previous high, a number 2 pick in 1995. '95 was Bud's year with 14 straight wins to open the season.2000 Divisions and Draft Order1- Deitrich 2- Wallace 3- Stroupe 4- Outlaw It looks like the reunion of last year's Central division withs perennial powers Deitrich, Outlaw and Wallace. The losers of the last three Super Bowls. This is the most powerful division by far, and you have to feel for poor Stroupe. Stroupe is the only veteran team in this year's BRFL field NOT to make the playoff the last two years, and he faces very tough competition this year.
CENTRAL: Defending Champion Best is the standout in this division. He is the only team with an over .500 lifetime BRFL record. However, the field includes another "defending champ", Ricker, who retired after winning in 1997 and makes his comeback this year. AB and JK are playing against each other in the same division for the third straight year. JK has finished a weak second both times, and AB around .500 with his usual inconsistent scoring.
WEST: The old and the new... They don't get any older than 15 year veterans CZ and CJ. They don't get any newer then the Rookie Moses and the empty slot (likely a rookie as well). Here's where we feel the loss of Mo-ha and Talbot. What a division this would have been with those two teams. You got to like Calvin, He's had his way with the old man as a division foe the last two seasons. They are retiring from the league citing concerns over workload. The 1998 champs have led the league in winning percentage in their five year run. Perhaps also a desire to go out on top?League is scrambling to fill the last spot. For years the BRFL has a pretty closed league where if slots if were open, they were filled by "selected" people. The BRFL hasn't begged to fill a spot since 1988 when Best joined the night of the draft. Ricker Back in LeagueAugust 13 After leaving the BRFL in 1998, Brian Ricker has been dying to be let back in. I won't go into the circumstances that led to him to return, but they are ironic. The two time champion has a .500 record in the league, 52-52. Ricker has been impetus for some of the leagues major rule changes in the last 10 years. In 1992, Ricker won his first championship, but came out of a division that seemed to fold up its tents after halloween. Revenues were down so the league decided that therefore divisions were bad and switched to a 14 team tournament format in 1993. By 1997, Ricker emerged from the 12 seed and reeled off four straight wins to take the title. Revenues were down again, and the league went back to divisions when Ricker and Gates departed in 1998. You can say the league doesn't like it when Ricker wins. However, things may liven up in 2000. Jones' forum ramblings have been less interesting since his favorite punching bag he dubbed "Slugboy" retired. Now that Ricker is back in the fold, expect Jones to attack with renewed vigor. Brad Moses Joins LeagueAugust 13 The BRFL gets its first "new blood" since 1995. Brad Moses, a veteran of Bud's Unnamed Fantasy League, joins the BRFL. Brad's record in the Bud League is 33-36 after 5 seasons. Last year, he was 3-10, his worst season and qualified for the imfamous "Toilet Bowl" and lost. Fitting he should replace Talbot, who like Moses, had an above .500 career record before also tanking with a 3 win season.I have a number of "Moses" puns, but I will save them for the regular season. Statistically, Ricker and Moses combined careers are 85-88. Talbot's and Peil's were 121-151. So, the BRFL will be slightly improved. Draft Order Selection Begins Friday
