Harvey Dayton Broughton was born April 8, 1895 in Lincoln Parish, LA. He married Mary D. Autrey. The most notorious information about Harvey is that he was tried for murdering one of his friends. Family members say Harvey Dayton had been drinking heavily when he took a knife and cut his friend's throat for no apparent reason. With monetary assistance from his siblings, Harvey Dayton got an attorney and defended himself in a Ruston, Louisiana courthouse. He was acquitted of the murder, although descendants say he did commit the crime.

Harvey and Mary had three children...

Annie Broughton was born the youngest of eight children (4 boy and 4 girls) belonging to John Green Broughton. Little is known about her at this time, but according to her neice, Julia Ann Broughton Beamer, "Aunt Annie" married a man whose last name was Green and had two sons. They lived in Dubach for a time, but Annie's first husband died. She joined the Air Force and while in the service met her second husband somewhere in or around Maryland. Unfortunately the marriage didn't last, and "Aunt "Annie's last known whereabouts were in Washington DC, where she was reportedly living with her youngest son.
