Howard Shore: BIG

From now on we can enjoy listening this wonderful music that took nine years to come out. Howard Shore, nowadays one of the most outstanding film music composers, gave us this composition that has nothing to do with his The Silence of the Lambs (1990) or Dead Ringers (1988), obscurer but as good as the rest of his compositions, although they belong to a different style away from the popular likings. Big (1988) does belong to the latter as so does his brilliant Nobody´s Fool (1994). Twenty-nine themes forms this complete score with a good sound quality, including a special supplemental section with six tracks. Until now we used to listen the only theme edited in the compilation disk Screen Themes, edited also in 1988. This theme performed by the composer, never used in the film, is included as well in this new and expected edition within the special suplemental edition. The soundtrack has mainly melodical themes, and I´d like to emphasize the marvellous Main Theme played in different ways on several tracks (To Bed, Main Titles, Home or End Credits). Just say to Howard Shore´s fans or whoever loves this great score, do not miss it from your collections and bearing in mind the 1000-copy Limited Edition: Hurry Up!!. I.P.
