1998 have been a specially fruitful and happy year in the career of the English George Fenton, with six stupendous scores for such number of films (You've Got Mail, The Object of my Affection, Dangerous Beauty, Ever After, Living Out Loud and My Name is Joe) that have placed him, definitively, in a first level; among them it highlight, with own light, two beautiful works set in past times: the free version of the Cinderella's story that supposes Ever After, and its musical contribution to the Venice of the XVI century depicted in Dangerous Beauty. And, again, far from trying to mimic a time and such a well-known style (in this case thanks to Antonio Vivaldi's music), Fenton contributes with an essentially romantic score, with a spectacularly beautiful main theme (Venice Proud and Pretty) and a magnificent orchestral development worthy of the best symphonists of the moment; certain color touches and style heirs, deliberately, of the mentioned Vivaldi contribute to the historical balance of a score that is not only one of his author's best, but also one of the most outstanding in 1998.
