Bruce Broughton: TRUE WOMEN

Composer of an enviable firmness, always inspired and with an openly classic style, north-american Bruce Broughton does not reach the popular or prestige heights who enjoy John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner and so many others, but the quality of his music, and the melodic flow which surrounds it make him willing of a greater number of followers. It is the same that his works will be for intimate dramas -Carried Away (1995)-, spectacular action films Shadow Conspiracy (1996)- or TV miniseries like True Women, Broughton always compose at the top of his possibilities, never letting down us whom admired the inherent quality of all of his compositions. And is on this path on which we may frame the seventy-plus minutes of music for this dramatic series setted among the Far West Pioneers; a wide main theme, and some secondary themes associated to characters and situations, are the thematic excuse for this splendid orchestral and melodic show. A new and very commendable oportunity to discover a serious and important author. M.A.F.
