Hark there! The beginning of the end is nigh. Industrial Blues has been unleashed upon the world. A collection of ambiant thoughts and chaotic impulses, this is truely the psychic alarm clock for the sleeping. Remisscant of 1983-86 Current 93, or, more recently, late era SWANS, this EP takes one's definition of music and strips it down to is bare minnimum. As you explore what exactly music is, the gradual distillation leads to the concept that music is not melody, not rhythm, not harmony, but rather and merely a sound created for the sole purpose of extracting an emotional response. Industrial Blues is an elaboration on that theme, boiling down conceptions and perceptions to the pure essence of a lifetime of irrational and unrelated sounds. This is rather challenging music, not for everyone, but for those of you who are ready to hear the world exposed, this is purity.

Death by Drowning has contributed a song to the "Sounds of the Midwest I" compilation, a collection of music from Minnesota bands. A very diverse compilation with styles ranging from funk to alt-rock to DBD. Available through MP3.com, this is a wonder compendium of twelve bands representing up-and-coming local music, a statement that there is more to our local scene than Semisonic and Husker Du. This disc is available for MP3 download, DAM purchace, or RealAudio play through MP3.com. Highly recomended.

The sister EP to "Industrial Blues", this is the alternate world of sensation. Slated for release on 6-1-99, "Industrial Greys" is a dissertation on urban phenomenon. As "Blues" utilizes white noise and detatched ambiance, "Greys" is heavily saturated with beats and percussive loops, seemingly more accessible, opposing techniques in time, structure, and wholeness combine to finalize the image established in "Blues". The flip side to the coin, the dark to the light, a more bitter, frustrated album, culminating to a unique and disturbing take on what we regard as our world.
