This Indenture made this twenty third day of August in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and fifty two Between Elizabeth Stewart of the City of Philadillphia and state of Pansyvania by Rily G Samuel her attorney in fact of the county of Hopkins and commonwelth of Kentucky on the one part and Joseph D Bratcher of the county of Grayson and commonwelth aforesaid of the other part Witnefseth that the said party of the first part by her attorney aforesaid for and in consideration of the Sum of Seventy dollars current money of Kentucky to her in hand paid The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Bratcher his heirs and afsigns two certain tract or parcel of land Situated and lying in the county of Grayson & Ohio on the waters of Caney creek being in two lots or parcels one bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a black oak the most north East corner of a lot land Surveyed for Alexander Evans and running thence N 85 1/8 W 50 poles to a hickory thence S 21 W 80 poles to a  a stake thence N 85 1/2 E 50 poles to a stake in the original line thence with the Same N 21 East 80 poles to the beginning containing twenty five acres be the same more or lefs The other tract containing one hundred and Eight acres and bounded as follows To wit Beginning at a hickory Standing in the most north Westwurdly line running Thence S 21 W 80 poles to a Stake thence N 85 1/2 W 208 poles to a Stake in the original line of Said Thence with the Same N 21 E 80 poles to three hickory and two Sourwoods thence S 851/2 E 208 poles to the Beginning being a part of the Same land Sold by R G Samuel agent as aforesaid to Elaxander Evans (but contract with Evans being canceled) be the same more or lefs Together will all and Singular the premises thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the Said Bratcher his heirs and assigns forever And the party of the first part for herself here heirs Executors and Administrators the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the Said Bratcher his heirs or persons whatsoever doth and will warrant and defend the presents  In testimony whereof the Said Elizabeth C Stewart by R G Samuel her attorney in fact hath hereunto set her hand and Seal the day and date first above written

I Charles Henderson clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid certify that this deed from Elizabeth C Stewart by R G Samuel her Attorney in fact to Joseph D Bratcher was this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by Said Samuel as atty as aforesaid to be his act and deed whereupon Said deed together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly admited to record in my office       Given under my hand this 28nd August 1852
