One of life's greatest treasures is the love that binds hearts together in friendship. "A friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out." FRIENDS Years go by without a sound Sometimes decades without word Deep in the trunks of our minds Rests the memories of our friendship Never "I used to have a friend," Always "I have a friend..." Some friends are daily doses Some are for lifetimes Friends do not destroy one's life They help to build and rebuild They revel in one's triumphs They are saddened by one's trials Friends true remember decades of life Always begin with "I've missed you..." Friends give lives for friends Friends give of themselves for friends Friends are whom we share our lives with Friends are whom we celebrate our "my's" with Friends are whom we share our grief with Friends are whom we share our needs with Friends come in all colors and hues Friends come in all sizes and shapes Friends come in both genders Friends come in when others fear to tread Although we pass the years away Not in close proximity The decades of our friendship true Rests peacefully in me and you © Reynolds 1998 U.S.
