FRIENDS VIII

          WHAT FRIENDSHIP MEANS TO ME

          Friendship is a true
          and lasting relationship
          with all people.

           I also believe in honesty,
          no deceptions,
           no hiding behind a false
          mask, no blaming others
          for what has been
          happening to our own
          Inner Spirit.

           Deal with our own
          problems, asking advice
if necessary, and even if we
          are at a stand still.

          Love one another for who
           they really are.

          Do not expect others to
           accept what you say as
the absolute "be all to end all",
          and understand that others
           may know more than what
           you think they do.

          Do not hate one another,
           but love and respect their
          opinions as the truth, until
          proven differently.

I also believe that a friend
          should give with their
          hearts and not ask, or
          expect anything in return.
I also believe that it should
           be given freely
          and not forced.

A friend is like a flower, a rose to be exact, Or maybe like a brand new gate that never comes unlatched. A friend is like an owl, both beautiful and wise. Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost, whose spirit never dies. A friend is like those blades of grass you can never mow, standing straight, tall, and proud in a perfect little row. A friend is like a heart that goes strong until the end. Where would we be in this world if we didn't have a friend. by Diana Mitev

When we share laughter, There's twice the fun; When we share success, We've surpassed what we've done. When we share problems, There's half the pain; When we share tears, A rainbow follows rain. When we share dreams, They become more real; When we share secrets, It's our hearts we reveal. If we share a smile, That's when our love shows; If we share a hug, That's when our love grows. If we share with someone On whom we depend, That person is always Family or friend. And what draws us closer And makes us all care, Is not what we have, But the things that we share When you share.... you open...your heart ~~ANON~~

          .

MY FRIEND AND CONFIDANT . . You are half the world away, And my today is your tomorrow. I have never seen your face, Nor heard words from your lips. I do not know your sounds of laughter, Or the softness of your sigh. I have not a clue as to who you are, Or the customs for which you live. I do know that you are kind and sweet, You are a thoughtful and caring soul. You think of others before yourself, ALL others, young and old. These things I know about you, Even though we have never met. I have learned this by coming home Each day and finding you here. You are not here in body and soul, But as a lighted rectangle. You come to me every day as A message on my screen, A message that I can rely on To cheer me up and make my day. Through a keyboard we share Our ups and downs. I have opened my inner self to you, And you have to me as well. We have traded secrets and laughs, As well as sorrows and pain. I have never met you, but feel as if I have known you most of my life. To most this might sound silly, But I assure them, it is not. Even though we have never met, I feel a bond between us. A bond that should have taken years to build, Yet was built in a month or two. A bond that lifelong friends should have, Although most never do. A bond that I am glad to share with you... My Friend And Confidant. Inspired by Ju Liet -Poem by Steven Lowdermilk

          A SPECIAL GIFT

          Friendship is a special gift
           given to us all.
The smile of a friend is
           sunlight on a cloudy day,
          and every smile given to
           a friend is returned.
          A friend is one whom
          you can talk to,
          and listen to without judging.

A friend doesn't ignore your faults
but accepts them as a part of you.
A friend is a shoulder to lean on
          when you need support,
a pat on the back when
          you do well,
          and a sympathetic ear
           when you fail.
          A friend is a person
          you can laugh
          with about everything,
          you can cry with without
          shame,
          and whom you trust
           completely.
A friend is a partner in life
and a part of you always.
