I love Eddy Arnold! He has the most versatile and warmest sounding
voice that I have ever heard in a male singer. I would like him to know
that he has younger fans, I being 24. My dad used to sing Eddy's songs
all of the time before he came down with throat cancer. It is sad to think
that he will never sing again. I got him one of Eddy's recordings for Christmas,
and I never thought that it might make him feel bad because he could not
sing along any more. I would like to thank Mr. Arnold for all of the great
music that he has put his heart into over the years. It would be nice if
I could write to him personally, but he is probably a very busy man. Take

CLA President Frank Dell was to be a guest on the The Roger Fredinburg
national talk show on the Radio America Network on the evening of Friday,
November 29th. For those who were tuned in, we apologize for your inconvenience.
Roger took the Thanksgiving Holiday off and a previous show was aired.
There was a scheduling mix up, and Dell’s interview will be rescheduled.
Dell, with co-host Dick Driscoll, are planning their syndicated show after
the 1st of the year called "Live Country Talk Radio" which will feature
the Legends and independent artists. If you are a committed Independent
artist interested in being interviewed on this show, please go to the Independent

to be a member of the CLA, this show is strictly to recognize artists for
their talent and abilities.)
Frank Dell will also be hosting "Entertainment Branson USA" produced

I had no idea this website existed until just a few minutes ago.
Well done! A fitting tribute to the "best of the best".
First, I would like to wish Mr. & Mrs. Arnold the very best
on their 61st anniversary. As my 29th approaches this month, it lets me
know I have a ways to go.
I will be writing to Eddy to tell him how much his music has meant
to my parents, to me, to my two sons, and I hope some day to their children.
While I have enjoyed many artists over the years, I will always
come back to the peace and serenity of listening to the velvety smoothness
of Eddy Arnold.
As for Eddy not being honored by the Kennedy Center. It's their
loss, not ours or Eddy's. Family, friends, and the love and admiration

Growing up in Newfoundland,Canada in the 60's, we never had much
access to a lot of music until my Dad who worked for the Americans in Argentina
bought some 45s home to us. It was a great treat at the time. We
listened to everything from Johnny Cash to Elvis Presley and loved them
all. Then one day he brought home a song called "I want To Go with You",
and knew that this singer and this song was different. I have been

I was just on your web site for Eddy Arnold. Back in the 1950s
or 1960s an LP record, sung by Eddy Arnold, was released called Wanderin'.
In addition to the title song were songs such as:

I Gave My Love A Cherry
Red River Valley
Sweet Betsy from Pike
Wayfaring Stranger, and others
I bought this wonderful LP I back in the 50s or 60s and in subsequent
years I associated Eddy Arnold with these classics rather than with songs
such as Bouquet of Roses. I tried to find the CD version of this
LP but was unable. Although the LP was pretty beat up, I converted
the songs to mp3 files and cleaned them up as best I could. Do you
know if the master disk or tape of this LP has been recorded in CD format?

Thank you for this website as I've been trying for so long to find
a mailing address for Eddy Arnold as I have a photo taken of myself &
Dr Arnold a few years ago by one of our local radio station DJs & I'd
sure like to get him to autograph it. I's such a treasure to me because
I had taken my mother to his concert here in Kansas City & shortly
thereafter she passed away. He was her all time favorite singer & to
actually see him in person was a dream come true, but when I "weaseled"
my way backstage & actually got my picture taken with him & gave
Mom a large print--well, she was just ecstatic & showed it to everyone
she met (every chance she got) till she died. Her last few months of life
were pretty dismal but that photo was a ray of sunshine in her pain filled
world & just another case that Eddy Arnold could really "Make The World
Go Away"--He's a true gentleman & so very real & you just meet
him once & realize that what you see is exactly what he is all about.
Thank you for giving us this venue to let others know how we feel about
Eddy & to be able to send a card to him & his beloved wife on the

Why I Like Eddy: I like Eddy because in 1956 I was working an air
shift at KOBY, San Francisco, when Eddy walked in. He had a new release
and we were the hottest station in the Bay area. I was fairly new to radio
and was a little nervous interviewing such a great artist. He was the most
relaxed man I had ever met and put me at ease right away. I told
him that when I started in radio at a small town in Colorado, his show
"Eddy Arnold's Checkerboard Square Show" was on during my air shift.
The format included his signature, a commercial, and then any song of his
that I chose to play. I loved doing that show.
Over the years I have worked at several radio stations in several
capacities from radio personality, program director,and manager.
Whatever my capacity I always included an Eddy Arnold song.
I have always remembered him for his grace and kindness and have
always respected his talent. For many years he always sent me a Christmas
card and I want to thank him for his thoughfulness.

if you can tell me about Eddy Arnold's song Wings on My Angel? I have most
all of his song on CD's, but none have that song. I think the Bear Box

04, 1944, in Nashville. It was the first song that he recorded.
It was released on the Bluebird label which was owned by RCA.

Eddy Arnold was a household singer all through our younger years.
The day finally came when we saw him in Reno, Nev. What a show..... only
a great artist could put on one as truly good as that was. And just yesterday
picked up his Legendary Artist C.D. The rack had just been filled and along
with the Christmas C.D. I found last year, I feel we are still very much
involved with a great singer and wonderful showman. His sense of humor

some of Eddy's early years up to his retiring.
Eddy is a private gentle-man so I do not know where you would get
additional information about his family. His early years are rich
and surprising as he lived in and contributed to a very important part
of American history. From a musical and American historical perspective
, you could not have chosen a better subject. You should make sure
that your paper includes Eddy's pioneering contributions to the music industry.
Eddy was instrumental in bringing country music to the concert hall and
he was the first artist to cross from country to pop. He owns many records
(non-musical) and has received many awards. Reading the contributions by
the various authors to www.eddyarnold.com should give you some insight
to Eddy. Mr. Arnold has two honorary doctorates, more than any country
artist has ever received.

high school days. I recently found an Eddy Arnold tape in a shop in Minot
North Dakota, and it brought back some fond memories. He is the most relaxing
singer I know of. I wish him the best of everything, and I am glad to be

months now, and it kind of makes me feel connected to so many people, who,
like me, love Eddy Arnold - the man and his music. Unlike so many who write
about this lovely man, I did not go through decades of listening to his
beautiful voice, for it's only the past year or two that I've gotten to
appreciate his talent. Quite by accident - I received a music catalog through
the mail, and while browsing through it, the name Eddy Arnold and the titles

CD, and from the moment I played it, I was seriously hooked. I remembered
that voice from my childhood, and it so thrilled and delighted me that
I ordered all the CD's featuring Eddy Arnold that I came upon - then the
darndest thing happened!!!! I discovered that wonderful world of "downloading",
and just had a ball gathering all his great music into my computer. I went
through all the versions and re-recordings throughout the many decades
of his career,'till I had amassed my hundred or so "Favorite Eddy Arnold"
songs. Now they are on a disc which plays continual Eddy Arnold music while
I while-away the time at my computer. I wish I could relate to you the
great joy my Eddy Arnold music has brought to my life. His music fills
my heart and home for many hours of each day. I've read so many accolades
- such praise from just about everyone who has ever had any contact with
this man, and you know what? His voice tells me that every word said about
him is so, because the warmth and tenderness of the man seems to emanate
from his voice. It's not just his rich baritone, and good voice that make
him so very special - for many before and since can boast of that. No -
what sets him apart from all the rest is the love and kindness, the joy
of life, the good humor, and the personality of the man - they all come
through - from his heart, to his voice, and out to all of us. Strange as
it may sound - I have listened to his songs, literally, thousands of times,
and I must admit that, every now and then, when I least expect it - Eddy
Arnold will sing a romantic song to me, and the tears will fall, as they
did the first time I listened to him sing. He sings of love and romance,
and you just know he believes every word, and of course, he is singing
just to me. Could it be otherwise, and if so, then why does he reach the
very depths in me, and touch my soul??? He's one of a kind, and a master

seeing Eddy Arnold in concert. I have heard how truly marvelous those concerts

and he's alone on stage, just him and his guitar - well - it's just spectacular.
I've been trying to find some source through which I could obtain a video
tape of one or more of his concerts. All my efforts have been in vain -

ever since. There is no other performer that can come close to him. I remember

Yesterday I talked very briefly to Tommy Overstreet. I had
noticed he was doing five nights at Cactus Petes Casino in Jackpot, Nevada.

check. I asked if he recalled playing Sullivan's Trailways Lounge,

I just wanted to post the following that was written
by David Hinckley of the New York Daily News today. To me this article
just typifies what is going on in the world and just reinforces how far
down hill our country has gone for Eddy and his fans.
Scanned 'txt msg' Bible, saw that it was not good
Look up Ecclesiastes 3:1 in the King James Bible and
you find the adage "To everything there is a season."
"A time to get, and a time to lose," it reads several
verses down. "A time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend,
and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak."
It's a passage of sufficient resonance that Pete Seeger
put it to music, and in 1965 it became a No. 1 pop hit for the Byrds.
Look it up today in a new book called "r father n
hvn" by Simon Jenkins (Westminster John Knox Press, $8.95) and it reads
like this:
"2keep & 2chuck; 2shut it & 2talk."
That's it. That's all of it.
"r father n hvn" is billed as a "text message version"
of the Bible - the Old and New Testaments rewritten in the shorthand English
designed for computer devices with limited display space. Jenkins says
it's absolutely splendid for sending a quick word of inspiration to, say,
someone's mobile phone.
"Rewriting the Bible for a generation that rarely
darkens church doors makes it accessible and fun," he says.
That's one way to look at it.
Now, it's true that translating the Bible has always
invited criticism. For centuries, it also invited execution. Happily for
Jenkins, codes of church conduct have evolved over two millennia, so today
he is probably in little danger of being beheaded by outraged clergy.
But outraged defenders of the English language might
be another story, because the "txt msg" version of the Bible serves as
an acute reminder that computer shorthand is no closer to English than
a Shetland sheepdog is to a Hebrew National hot dog.
Consider two of the Ten "txt msg" Commandments. "Honor
thy father and thy mother" becomes "Onur yr rents." "Remember the Sabbath
day, to keep it holy" becomes "Do nt wk sundy."
Okay, the message is sort of the same, except that
the biblical Sabbath was Saturday. But reading the "txt msg" version is
like ordering a chocolate mousse and being handed a capsule that contains
all the ingredients distilled and compressed down to the size of a marble.
Elegance counts, style counts, and both are now gone.
Of course, from everything I've seen, that's the long-range
goal of computer people anyhow. They don't want to speak our language.
They want to force us to speak theirs.
Maybe the "txt msg" Bible is the place 2just say no.

HI ALL EDDY ARNOLD FANS !!!!
I wonder how many noticed the counter has gone over
the 150,000 mark...at 150,572 as I write. It seems such a short time ago
that I mentioned it had reach the 100,000 mark. Even Bill and Bruce Comer
the Web Masters of this great site didn't realize it at that time. Now
in just a little over 4 years since it's inception in March of 1998...it
has reached this plateau. Thanks to all the fans that took the time to
leave their finger prints on guest book page....by signing it. I know Bill
and his Son Bruce have worked many hours putting this GREAT site together
