General Thomas Ewing, Jr.

One of the major delights of representing Dr. Samuel Mudd has been learning about my ancestors, Senator Thomas Ewing and his wife Maria Boyle Ewing, their son General Thomas Ewing, Jr. and his wife Ellen Cox Ewing, and  their son Thomas Ewing III and his wife Anna Cochran Ewing. Senator Ewing advised General Ewing in his defense of Mudd, and Thomas Ewing III, also a lawyer, donated with his brother William Cox Ewing nearly 100,000 documents to the Library of Congress. I've spent many a happy Saturday diving into these papers, (including love letters!), and so far barely scratched the surface. Here are some pictures:
