Jazz As A Motivational Tool is an innovative program which blends the study of music with storytelling, visual arts, and individual/group musical performances. It recognizes that music appeals to what is common in all of us, regardless of our race, gender, culture, language, educational level or disability. It uses Jazz Music-that uniquely American art form-to engage elementary and secondary school students in exploring their own futures. At the same time, it uses Jazz as the context for helping these students develop the skills and understanding for succeeding in that future.
