Meta tags, like Special Characters, are not discussed in my tutorial but are a helpful addition to your page. What are Meta Tags? Meta Tags are lines of HTML code that are read by search engines when they decide how high to rank your site. Meta Tags contain a brief description of your page and some keywords that you want your page to be associated with. You can't be assured a top ranking by putting meta tags on your page, but meta tags will insure a lot higher ranking of your page than you have now with no meta tags.
