ATTACHMENT FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

SPONSORED BY KAEOPP

In addition to the five requirements outlined in the enclosed scholarship criteria, be mindful of the following:

1. A scholarship nomination will only be entertained by the committee if the nominator has paid KAEOPP dues for the current year.

2. Each institution may submit only one scholarship application per project (EOC, ETS, SSS, UB, VUB).  Programs may elect to conduct internal competitions to determine their best applicant for each scholarship, then forward that application to the Awards and Recognition Committee.

3. A scholarship applicant must have a demonstrated financial need. Within the text of your nominating letter, please elaborate on how the scholarship will make a financial difference.

4. The student must be admitted to, or currently enrolled in an institution of high learning with plans to attend the fall 2007 term. NOTE: A student need not be attending or planning to attend the nominating KAEOPP member’s host institution.

5. Winning students must provide the KAEOPP treasurer with proof of registration for the fall 2007 term no later than October 1 in order to receive the scholarship checks.

6. A completed scholarship application is the responsibility of the nominating KAEOPP member, not the Awards and Recognition Committee. All materials should be collected by you and sent, at one time, to us.

7. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

8. Winners will be announced at the KAEOPP Spring Meeting.
