The Zendomizer

Now Available: Zendomizer for handhelds running Palm OS or WinCE!

The Zendomizer is a program that randomly generates rules for the game of Zendo. If you often have trouble thinking of a rule when it's your turn to master a game of Zendo, you can use this program to quickly create a bunch of rules to keep handy.

You need a Java enabled browser to use the Zendomizer on this page.

Note that this program works not by selecting a rule from a pre-defined list, but by actually generating rules from a specially designed grammar. Because of this, it will sometimes create a rule that is grammatically correct, but which makes no sense or is useless for the purpose of the game of Zendo. In these cases, you can usually use the rule as an inspiration, and modify it slightly into something useable. In some cases, however, you may get a rule that is so ridiculous as to be unsalvagable. It's best to just ignore these and hit the "Generate Rule" button again.

I ported the Zendomizer to SuperWaba, a Java-like runtime environment for Palm OS and WinCE. So now you can run the Zendomizer on your handheld!

The Zendomizer runs on all devices that SuperWaba supports, which includes most devices running Palm OS version 2.0 or higher, and WinCE version 2.11 or higher. You must install the SuperWaba Virtual Machine on your handheld to run the Zendomizer. See the Zendomizer's ReadMe file for more information.

Latest grammar update: August 20, 2003. (You may want to re-download if you have an older version.)
