Format: 3 CS / 2 CS Label: no label Country: USA Release Date: 1991-1993 Length: approximately 2 hours (1 hour per tape - for the 2 CS version) Notes: These tapes were originally given out by Liz to only two people: Chris Brokaw and Tae Won Yu. There were a total of two separate cassettes. The first cassette contained 12 songs (as mentioned by Tae Won Yu in the punk fanzine Chemical Imbalance). The second cassette was reviewed in Rockpool. NOTE #1: The tracklisting below is for the 2-cassette version circulating among fans (many generations down the line). NOTE #2: * "Red Ruby Lips" is not Liz, but was included on the original tape. More Notes: After more research, I have determined that there were three Girly Sound cassettes made by Liz. With the assistance of über-fan JeremyEngle, here are some song title corrections: "Open Season" the actual title of "Beg Me", source: Chickfactor #3, Spring 1993); "Gigalo" the actual title of "Can't Get Out Of What I'm Into", source: Chemical Imbalance, circa 1992; "Double Dutch" the actual title of "Whip-Smart", source: Rockpool, January 1, 1993; and "Head On" the actual title of "?", source: Rockpool, January 1, 1993. The first cassette featured 12 songs, including "Flower", "Gigalo", "Shane", and "In Love With Yourself". The second cassette included "Double Dutch", "Head On", and "Chopsticks". The contents of the third cassette is not known at present. "Girls! Girls! Girls!" was apparently on one of the three Girly Sound cassettes, as confirmed by Chris Brokaw. Chris Brokaw also mentions that the first tape he received from Liz had 14 songs, as did the second tape (from Rolling Stone, October 6, 1994). The first cassette was called Yo Yo Buddy Yup Yup Word To Your Mother (from Billboard, May 8, 1993). Tracks: 2-cassette version:
