From a deed dated 29 Apr 1674: "Edmond ffreman Junr. of Sandwich in the Colony of New Plimouth in America for a fatherly affection unto my son Joseph Burge & my daughter Patience the w. of Joseph Burge afsd... doe give freely... one moyetee of upland... in Sandwich, being formerly in the poss. of Edmond ffreeman Senr... six acres... doe give unto my son in law Joseph Burge... his heirs..." Signed Edmond ffreeman. Witnesses: Richard Bourne, the mark of Thomas Burge. The grantor personally appeared and acknowledged the instrument 2 Mar 1674/5, at which time "Margarett freeman his wife appeared and gave up... all her right in the meadow herein specified."
